Resetting After a Rough Week: Finding Calm in the Chaos

I don't know about you, but I'm still recovering from last week, between the time change, its impact on the little ones, and the withdrawal from all the Halloween candy consumed in just a couple of days. Let’s just say, I’ve had one too many cups of coffee and a few sneaky sweets here and there that haven’t served me well. I’ve been tired, mentally drained from all the emotional outbursts, and definitely ready to start fresh this week.

I know I often talk about self-care, taking time for yourself, and showing yourself kindness. But after a week like this, forgiving ourselves becomes just as essential. Forgive those moments when you might’ve yelled a little too much, or snapped over something small. Over time, I’ve realized that my triggers, and those of my boys, are often reflections of how we feel that day. The same goes for our kids, when they have a rough day, we might not know what they’ve faced at school. Sometimes it’s something as small as a hurtful comment on their shirt or their lunch, and that can be enough to set them off, leading them to come home with a sour mood. It’s easy to think they’re just being rude or ungrateful, but often, they’re dealing with emotions they don’t yet have the tools to manage and that is something we adults sometimes forget, myself included. Their little hands and minds are still learning how to handle situations that might seem small to us, but are very big to them.

So today, let’s take a moment to breathe, to enjoy an extra cup of coffee or a glass of wine, or to just pause. Run a bath and drop in one of our Solful Organics Serenity bath bursts to let the soothing, all-natural ingredients help you unwind. Let the house stay a little messy, embrace the time with your little ones, and remember, tomorrow is a new day, a fresh start, and you are the author of your own story. Fill each chapter with happiness, patience, laughter, and love, because life is so much sweeter when you’re smiling.

XO,
Sandra
