Adventures in Tiny Tastebuds: Introducing Your Baby to the World of Food!

Introducing foods to your baby can be intimidating, or at least it was for me. I completed the CPR course while I was pregnant and yet I was so worried about my firstborn choking that I really limited the variety of foods I gave him. As you can imagine, this created some issues with his willingness to try new foods. At the time, a friend of mine suggested I eat my own meals at the same time as my son did, and surprisingly enough, it did the trick, but with one tiny issue, he really wasn’t eating the food I prepared for him, even though he would nibble on it here and there, what he was after, was the food I prepared for myself.

I am a creature of habit and would eat a bowl of steel-cut oats most mornings. This kid would practically inhale the entire bowl and ask for more, so from that day forward, that is what I did. Fast forward to my second and third sons, baby-led weaning was super successful and super messy, but I am happy to say that they all eat a variety of foods now with minimal complaints. I should note that I do hide most of the veggies though, usually by grinding them with my mincer and then sprinkling cheese on top to hide any remanence of, as my kids say, the gross orange and green things. This is why when I first learned about the GoBe Snack Spinner, I thought it was the coolest thing out there and I really wish I had something like this when my kids were transitioning to solid foods.

As parents, we all know the importance of introducing a variety of foods to our little ones from an early age. It is crucial to help them develop a diverse palate and to ensure they get all the nutrients they need for healthy growth and development. However, getting babies to try new foods can be a challenge, and encouraging them to use their fine motor skills to explore new textures and flavours can be equally challenging. This is where the GoBe Snack Spinner comes in handy because it does both. It’s a fun and interactive tool that creates independence. The spinner consists of a bowl attached to a spinning base, which is activated by a simple push button. The bowl can be filled with a variety of different snacks, such as fruits, vegetables, crackers, and cheese, and the spinner can be used to help your little ones develop their fine motor skills, all while developing their own independence.

Truly, I wish I had this years ago, but I am glad I have it now because even though my boys are older, they still love this concept of the GoBe Snack Spinner. It’s a hit in my home, and I’m confident it will be in yours as well!

XO,
Sandra
